2027 for the Dragon: everyone wants a piece of your time
What is coming · 4 min read · Updated 8 October 2026
In short
2027 does not clash with the Dragon, but it does crowd you. The year adds more of what you already have, so people, offers and competition tend to multiply. It is a good year for teamwork and a hard one for doing everything yourself. Choose your battles and your partners carefully.
Born in these years
1952 (water), 1964 (wood), 1976 (fire), 1988 (earth), 2000 (metal) and 2012 (water). The Bazi year changes around 4 February, not on 1 January, so if you were born in January or the first days of February, you may belong to the year before. The year table linked at the bottom of this page has the exact dates.
What 2027 tends to bring
In Bazi, 2027 belongs to the Goat. The Dragon and the Goat have no clash, harm or pairing between them, so the year is neutral for the Dragon's sign. What shapes it is the elements: the Dragon is an earth sign, and 2027 is a fire and earth year.
When a year brings more of your own element, the tradition reads it as company: friends, colleagues, rivals and people who want the same thing you do. That can mean strong support from a team, or a scramble for the same prize. Fire, the year's other element, feeds earth, which tends to bring backing, learning and people willing to vouch for you. Dragons who share credit and pick their allies tend to get the best of 2027.
Love and relationships
The year tends to fill your calendar, which can leave less room for the person closest to you, so make time on purpose. Single Dragons tend to meet people through groups, work and friends, and a friend of a friend may turn out to matter. Around 8 October to 7 November, the month clashes with the Dragon, and feelings tend to run hot; it is better for honest talk than for ultimatums.
Work and money
Competition is the theme at work: more people chasing the same role, client or idea. The way through tends to be alliances rather than solo efforts. Partnerships formed this year can be strong, but agree who does what, and who gets what, at the start. With money, watch what you spend on others, from lending to shared costs, since years heavy in your own element tend to bring them.
The months to watch
Bazi months follow the sun, so each one starts a few days into a calendar month. The dates below can shift by a day depending on where you live.
Busiest: around 8 October to 7 November. This month clashes with the Dragon, which tends to bring sudden changes and heated moments.
Smoothest: around 8 September to 8 October. This month pairs with the Dragon, one of the six classic pairs, and it tends to bring help and good timing.
Most support from others: around 8 August to 8 September and 7 December to 6 January 2028. The Monkey and Rat months belong to the Dragon's friendly group of three.
Why your animal is only the start
The Dragon is your year animal, one of eight characters in your Bazi chart. The other seven come from your birth month, day and hour, and the most personal of them is your day master, the element of the day you were born. Two Dragons born in the same year can have very different years in 2027, because the year meets the rest of their charts in different ways. For some Dragons the extra earth will feel like a strong team behind them; for others, like too many people in the room.
Common questions
Is 2027 a good year for the Dragon?
It is a neutral year for the Dragon's sign, with no clash or pairing on the year's animal. It tends to be busy and social, good for teamwork and harder for going it alone. The rest of your chart decides how that plays out.
Why does 2027 bring competition for the Dragon?
Both the Dragon and the year are earth. When a year brings more of your own element, Bazi reads it as peers: friends, colleagues and rivals. That tends to mean support and competition at the same time.
Who are the Dragon's allies in Bazi?
The Dragon belongs to a friendly group of three with the Monkey and the Rat, which together form water. Its classic pair is the Rooster. Years and months that bring these animals tend to bring support.
